The Oklahoma Mission of Mercy, or OkMOM, is a two-day, free dental clinic designed to treat the most pressing needs of patients that are either uninsured, underinsured or those would normally not have access to dental care. At the event, patients undergo medical and dental triage to identify their needs and are then routed to the appropriate areas of treatment: oral surgery, extractions, restorations, pediatrics and hygiene. Each year, some 2000 patients are served over the course of the event.
Dr. McDougall has been joined by members of our office staff every year that the Mission of Mercy has been held in Oklahoma. Beginning in 2010, Dr. McDougall has provided treatment during both days of the Mission of Mercy in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, McAlester, Lawton, and Enid and he plans to provide treatment again next year.
